Margetts Pit is an old disused limestone quarry situated at Burham which is now being used for landfill. It is owned and operated by Aylesford Newsprint Services Limited (part of the Aylesford Newsprint group of companies) and is currently licensed to accept mill waste from the Aylesford Mills.
The landfill is operated to high standards and there are regular meetings with representatives of the local community in relation to the management and operation of the facility.
