With paper accounting for around for 20 per cent of household waste it's not hard to imagine what a major contribution recycling makes to the economy. Nor the impact it makes on the environment by reducing the growing problems of landfill. Compared with other forms of waste disposal recycling is a much more environmentally friendly option.

The Aylesford Newsprint paper round begins either when you deposit your used newspapers and magazines in one of the thousands of blue paperbanks dotted around the country, or if your local authority operates a kerbside scheme and collects them from your doorstep at home.
The paper is ultimately transferred to our state-of-the-art mill in Kent where the latest technology transforms it into 100 per cent recycled newsprint, called 'Renaissance'. The paper round might be said to end here, exept of course, that the recycling process is ready to begin all over again - when the newsprint is used in the production of your daily newspaper and delivered to the newsagent.
You are an important 'cog in the wheel' - make sure you play
your part.
Our recycling wheel explains the whole recycling process.
